Our biggest day of the year, Anzac Day, is not too far away. Did you know our Dawn Service on the beautiful Semaphore foreshore attracts thousands of people, reputably second only in numbers to the North Tce service in the city? Of course it doesn’t happen without the hard work of many volunteers. If you haven’t already, please volunteer an hour or two of your time on the day so that we can continue to provide an outstanding service for our community.
You may have noticed that we had to close the club for a few days last week while some maintenance work was underway. Treasurer Bob, who is also responsible for Facilities Management has been working closely with the Port Adelaide Enfield Council to ensure a number of maintenance issues are addressed before Anzac Day. Well done Bob for all your efforts and hard work.
With the Easter break coming up this weekend and the club closed on Good Friday, we’ve cancelled Open Mic Night this week and Thursday night will now be our Members’ Night. The Cash Draw has not been won for nine consecutive weeks which means that this Thursday night the draw will be a huge $1000. What a start to the Easter weekend that could be for someone. Hope to see you all there.
The calendar for the next couple of months is starting to fill up with some fun social events.
Friday 21st April – Galaxy Karaoke is back! The recent karaoke night was a huge success, so come along and sing your favourite song. Remember - what happens at karaoke, stays at karaoke!
Saturday 29th April is BYO Vinyl Night. We’ve held several vinyl nights in the past and they’re always lots of fun. Bring along your favourite LP or 45 and DJ Trevor will play it. There will be dancing!
Saturday 27th May is Bogan Bingo – this show will sell out. See the event on Facebook for more details. Book online at www.eventbrite.com
I would also like to thank the rest of the committee for taking care of my duties over the past two weeks while I have been away for work.
See you all at the club soon
